Spherical Roller Bearings
Various suffixes are used to identify certain features of
spherical roller bearings. The descriptions of the suffixes can be found below :
C2 : The radial internal clearance is smaller than standard
C3 : The radial internal clearance is greater than standard
C4 : The radial internal clearance is greater than C3
C5 : The radial internal clearance is greater than C4
C08 : The running accuracy is increase to ISO tolerance class 5
C083 : This is a combination of C08 & C3
C084 : This is a combination of C08 & C4
C(J), CC : The bearing has two window type steel cages, a flangeless inner ring and the guide ring is centred on the inner ring
CA : The bearing has a one piece machined brass cage and retaining flanges on the inner ring with the guide ring centred on the inner
CAF : As CA, but the bearing has a steel cage
2CS : This means the bearing has a steel reinforced Nitrile Seal (NBR) on both sides of the bearing and an annular groove with three lubrication holes on the bearings outer ring covered with a polymer band. It is also lubricated with an extreme pressure bearing grease.
2CS2 : This means the bearing has a steel reinforced Fluoro Seal (FKM) on both sides of the bearing and an annular groove with three lubrication holes on the bearings outer ring covered with a polymer band. It is also lubricated with a high temperature grease
2CS5 : This means the bearing has a steel reinforced hydrogenated acrylonitrile-butadiene rubber (HNBR) on both sides of the bearing. This can also be known as 2CS2
EC(J), ECC(J) The bearing has two window type steel cages, a flangeless inner ring and the guide ring is centred on the inner ring. It also has a reinforced roller complement
HA3 : The inner ring is case hardened
K : The bore is tapered at a ratio of 1:12
K30 : The bore is tapered at a ratio of 1:30
M : The bearing has a brass cage
P5 : The ISO tolerance of the dimensions and running accuracy are of class 5
P6 : The ISO tolerance of the dimensions and running accuracy are of class 6
P62 : This is a combination of P6 & C2
VA405 : This is for bearings fit for vibratory applications and they have surface hardened cages
VA406 : As VA405 but the bore of the bearing is PTFE coated
VE552(E) : The outer ring of the bearing has 3 equally spaced threaded holes in one side face in order to accommodate hoisting tackle. The E indicates that the eye bolts are supplied with the bearings.
VE553(E) : As VE552(E) but the bearing has threaded holes in both side faces
VG114 : The steel cage of the bearing is surface hardened
VQ424 : The running accuracy of the bearing is better than C08
VT143 : The grease of the bearing is replaced with an extreme pressure grease
W : The bearing does not have an annular but has lubrication holes in the outer ring
W20 : The bearing has 3 lubrication holes in the outer ring
W26 : The bearing has 6 lubrication holes in the outer ring
W33 : The bearing has an annular groove and 3 lubrication holes in the outer ring
W64 : The bearing has a solid oil filling
W77 : As W33 but the lubrication holes are plugged
W513 : A combination of W26 & W33
235220 : The inner ring is case hardened and has an helical groove in the bore
